About OReGO, the Road Usage Charge Program in Oregon

OReGO, ODOT’s Road Usage Charge (RUC) Program, was created by Senate Bill 810, and authorizes the Oregon Department of Transportation to assess a per-mile charge for volunteer drivers. The OReGO program started in July 1, 2015. Here are the current details:

  • Starting January 1st, 2024, the road usage charge is set at 2 cents per mile.
  • The types of vehicles in the program are limited to those classified as passenger vehicles.
  • Credits for state fuel tax are applied as fuel is used to drive taxable miles.
